Network environments/patterns

As we all know, networks are complex and come in many different forms and shapes. To help with planning your implementation, we have outlined 5 common network types. For some networks, you will find that you only need to refer to one of these network types to understand how to best implement your environment. For more complex networks, you might find that you need to consider two or more of these network types.

The types of networks covered in this section are:

• User printing onsite - no firewall port restrictions
• User printing onsite - multi-site with WAN connection
• User printing onsite - multi-site with no WAN connection
• User printing onsite - multi-subnet restricted network
• User printing off-network - remote printing
