In April we launched our Scan to Fax integration for the healthcare industry, as part of PaperCut MF 21.0 . It was the culmination of our healthcare product engineers tirelessly crafting faxing integrations for more than 10 months.
Faxing is a critical method of securely transmitting patient data in healthcare. But it often means a separate and disparate workflow away from the normal functions of your multi-function printer. Therefore faxing from an MFD can disrupt healthcare workers’ time management and not to mention raise security concerns around sending patient information.
That’s why since the release of Scan to Fax we’ve been focusing on partnering with many of the world’s leading fax providers, to continue simplifying and consolidating the user experience for as many healthcare workers as possible.
How Scan to Fax works
Commonly, for scan-to-fax MFD implementations, sysadmins configured the service with multiple applications. The Scan to Fax enhancement now enables sysadmins to simply create new scan-to-fax actions inside the PaperCut MF admin UI.
This means all MFDs with PaperCut Scan to Fax enabled allows users to streamline their workflow. With the fax connector, they are now able to send a secure fax at the MFD through their nominated fax provider via secure HTTPS.
This humble software feature doesn’t come in a shiny box, but it’s a vital piece of interoperability and supportability for the healthcare industry. Since launching, we’ve been hard at work partnering up with more fax providers so that more healthcare workers can unify their faxing and print management workflows.
We don’t mean for that to sound cryptic, but if you’d like full details on what’s currently planned and what’s later down the pipeline, contact your PaperCut ASC (Authorized Solution Center) or Reseller.
We’ll handle the printers’ health, you focus on your patients
Healthcare providers the world over are currently overwhelmed while on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic. That’s why we want to provide them with secure, mission-critical faxing services and print management capabilities without impeding their time or workload.
“We don’t want nurses, doctors, orderlies, and hospital staff to worry about printing or faxing,” says Mat Buttrey, PaperCut’s Senior Product Manager of Healthcare. “We want them to focus their energies on what they do best.
“Our software helps free up time because time is care,” says Mat. “We care about your printing so you can concentrate on caring for your patients.”
“For us to be a one-stop-shop for our customers, we need to be able to support them and all solutions they are using including faxing providers,” says Jennifer O’Leary, PaperCut’s Americas Channel Manager. “We want to make it easy for our customers, so they don’t have to add additional integrations themselves.”
Ahead of the release of PaperCut 21.1, we officially announced our latest integrations including Retarus and Opentext at #HIMSS21. Our partners ACDI and rfIDEAS hosted live demos as part of the conference. ACDI also demonstrated how PaperCut MF features Secure Print Release and Find-Me printing work with rfIDEAS card-readers.
As well as announcing our full list of new fax providers, ACDI showcased the slick new user interface functionality for embedded Scan to Fax from phone books that are available for Konica Minolta devices. We also hinted at all the faxing platform integrations on the horizon.
