Enhancements

• Improved Application Server performance by optimizing the Application Server to Print Provider protocol. [PO-3047], [PO-3042], [PO-3052]
• Added the ability to turn off full-site server sync via a new config key: system.site.database.rebuild.enabled. Incremental syncs will not be impacted by this. [PO-3033]

Fixes

• Fixed an issue that stopped empty printer groups from being removed in the nightly maintenance sync. [PO-3007]
• Fixed an issue that caused unnecessary load when using a Site Server, by optimizing the device licensing check process. [PO-770]
• Fixed a performance issue when releasing a large number of print jobs simultaneously. [PO-3112]
• Fixed a HTTP ERROR 500:Unable to resolve expression "mailto" error that appeared in the web interface when applying a perpetual license with a negative number of Site Servers in the Global Entitlements Service. Solving out known issue PO-3065.

Print Provider

• Fixed an issue that caused the PaperCut Application Server to incorrectly detect monochrome printers as color printers, which could lead to incorrect print charging or policy enforcement. [PIE-842]
• Improved the Print Provider to reduce the Application Server load when there are a large number of held jobs in a Find-Me queue and the connection between the Print Provider and the App Server if disrupted and then restored. [PIE-872]

Fixes

• Fixed an issue for MF new subscription customers where the Sales contact information displayed under PaperCut Admin Interface > About > Registration now displays the correct authorised partner contact details. [PO-2618]
• Updated the Universal Print Connector to version 2025-02-17-2017. See release notes . [PO-2910]
• Reduced unnecessary log entries in the service.log file, making troubleshooting easier when using application debug logs. [PO-777]
• Fixed an unexpected error that popped up in the Admin Interface when accessing Options. This issue occurred when updating user.web.custom-links in the Config Editor with at least two custom links. [PO-2885]
• Various performance improvements. [PO-3023]
• Fixed an issue where adding a non-embedded device (such as a Network Card Reader or VCC Controller) caused an error when accessing the About > Registration page. Solving known issue PO-3021 .
• Fixed an issue where Site Servers would try to sync entitlements (only Application Servers sync with the Global Entitlements Service), which caused log decryption errors. [PO-2454]

Copier/Device Integration

• Canon MEAP Gen3+: Administrators can now rename the PaperCut Access Device and integrated scanning buttons to whatever they prefer (e.g. Use Copier or scan) via a config key. [CDSS-5058]
• Xerox EIP 1.5+: Fixed an issue where users would be logged out automatically while using Xerox and 3rd party applications, after accessing the Xerox home screen by pressing the hard “Home” key. [CDSS-5118]

Print Provider

• Fixed an issue with Canon devices automatically selecting the tray when using the PaperCut Global PostScript printer driver to print with the bypass tray selected. [PIE-796]

Copier/Device Integration

• Konica Minolta Certification: PaperCut MF is now bEST certified by Konica Minolta USA. The certified connector version is 4.4.1.
• Konica Minolta:
  • Fixed an issue where MF allows admins to enable integrated scanning for Konica Minolta devices without a scanner. [CDSS-4445]
  • Fixed a issue where KM devices were not able to resolve a self signed certificate. [CDSS-4750]
  • Fixed an issue that caused the scan application to not launch on Bizhub 551. [CDSS-5067]

Enhancements

• Introduced a responsive design when accessing the user web interface pages on a mobile device. When upgrading to 24.1.3, the new design needs to be enabled via a config key. For new installs, the new design is enabled by default. [PO-2887]
• Added a new config key to disable old mobile user web pages, enabling the full user web interface by default on mobile devices. New 24.1.3 installs default to the full interface, while upgrades retain the standard mobile pages. [PO-2853]
• Email Printing on OAuth: service errors no longer lead to clearance of client details. For Gmail on OAuth only: The system will now try to auto-recover from error state. See previous release notes for PO-2576. [PO-2883]
• PaperCut Application Server now supports installations on Windows Server 2025. [PO-2829]
• Added Support for Kerberos, improving secure access options. [PO-1178]

Fixes

• Added an option to bypass a configured proxy for PaperCut Self-Hosted OCR. [PO-2827]
• A newer version of Pandoc (3.5) has been updated for PaperCut Self-Hosted OCR. For existing customers you will need to visit this link and run the latest Pandoc installer. [PO-2784]
• Fixed an issue causing MFA Card Self-Association to fail for devices on Site Servers. [PO-2937]
• Fixed an issue that was displaying subscription sync error message This MF server has previously been deactivated in the app log for a deactivated server. [PO-2909]
• Fixed an issue with configured proxy settings not working with Microsoft Entra ID Single Sign On (SSO). [PO-2889]
• Reduced the frequency of the background sync activity from hourly to daily to distribute sync request. This will reduce the impact to cloud service performance as it utilizes all active and available cloud services more effectively. Related to known issue PO-2745.
• Fixed a bug that was causing jr-fontxxxx.ttf files to be generated in the /server/tmp directory. Related to known issue PO-2767.
• Fixed an issue where an error message is displayed when an SFP device consumes an available MFD entitlement. Related to known issue PO-2795.
• Fixed an issue with Email to print, where jpeg images from the iOS Mail app were not printing in certain circumstances. [PO-2981]
• Fixed an issue where pop-ups and job details now scale correctly in the Mobile User UI on the Rates and Job Pending Release pages. [PO-2936]

Copier/Device Integration

• Fujifilm: Fixed an issue where servers in the +0:00 timezone immediately failed integrated scan jobs because of a problem in Fujifilm firmware. This fix is available by config key. Please contact PaperCut support, quoting [CDSS-4815] for more information.
• Fujifilm: Added ability to configure user groups to skip PIN entry after card swipe (if PIN is required). [CDSS-4811]
•  Xerox: Fixed an issue causing Xerox Altalink 80xx and Versalink 71xx series devices to have an unresponsive browser, deeming the device unusable. See known issue here . [CDSS-4893]
• HP OXP: Improved various server log messages. [CDSS-4878]

Security

• Minor security improvements.
• Fixed a minor issue where restricted printers appeared when users selected Release All on the Jobs Pending Release page. Users will now only see the printers they are allowed to access. [PO-2947]

Copier / Device Integration

• Xerox: Fixed an issue that occurred when trying to use Xerox Altalink devices on Firmware v121 where you would have to double-tap the touchscreen to navigate the device. The problem occurred due to changes in Xerox’s browser event handling. See known issue here . [CDSS-4678]
• Xerox: Added Support for 82xx devices. [CDSS-2907]
• HP OXP: Improved reliability of scan jobs with many HP devices running the OXPD embedded. [CDSS-4867]

New Features

• Windows Protected Print (WPP) mode support (BETA)

  • Computers with Windows Protected Print mode enabled can now print to Mobility Print print queues that are deployed via Print Deploy. See the Windows Protected Print percolator page for more information. [PD-2070]

• Print Deploy client management

  • Admins can now view details of all connected clients (workstations) in the Print Deploy admin interface. This displays the username, hostname, IP address, OS, user groups, and the zone the client is connected to.
  • Print queues can now be deployed directly to individual clients in addition to zones. [PD-1984]

• Integrated Scanning uplift

  • Scan Reporting - Added 3 new built-in reports in PaperCut MF that provide detailed information on users’ scanning behavior and activities. These new reports are in the Reports > Scanning tab. [PO-2147]
  • Scan Archiving - New functionality to complement the existing Print Archiving feature in PaperCut MF. Scan Archiving can be configured in Options > Scan Archiving section. [PO-2328]

• Added log entries for the database platform version and database driver version in Application Server log files. See Database version and database driver version for more details. [PO-2837]

Fixes

• Fixed an incorrect URL in the Card Association User Notification email. If the notification email still displays an incorrect URL, then go to “page”. Related to known issue . [PO-2410]

• Improved Global Entitlements Service (GES) sync performance. Changes included adjusting the synchronization frequency within MF to stagger customer check-ins throughout each hour, preventing simultaneous server requests. See known issue for more information. [PO-2745]

• Removed the outdated local copy of the PaperCut NG/MF manual, from the Application server which has been replaced with the online PaperCut NG/MF manual . [PO-1946]

• Fixed an issue introduced in MF v24.0.5, that caused an incorrect device status to be set when subscriptions expired. [PO-2834]

   

  Print Deploy Shared Secret Expiration with Entra ID SSO

  This version contains the fix for Print Deploy (1.9.2785). This shared secret expired as of November 24, 2024. More information listed in known issue . [PD-2133]

Copier / Device Integration

• Canon v1.3.2* Users can now change the language on the device at the login screen. [CDSS-4507]
• Kyocera v3.3.3* Updated the Kyocera embedded to display instructions when associating a swipe card with Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) for the first time at the device. [CDSS-4613]
• Xerox EIP 1.5+ Improved logging for Xerox devices to remove unnecessary error messages. [CDSS-4136]
• Ricoh SmartSDK v3.2.8*
  • Updated the Ricoh SmartSDK embedded to display instructions when associating card with Multi Factor Authentication (MFA) for the first time at the device. [CDSS-4492]
  • Fixed an issue on Ricoh SmartSDK devices where Integrated Scan jobs would be reported as a single job per user session when using the “Scan new document” button. [CDSS-4407]

Security

• The Environmental Impact Widget (not supported since 2022), is now disabled by default on all upgrades and new installations. [PO-2748]
