Enhancements

• Improved Application Server performance by optimizing the Application Server to Print Provider protocol. [PO-3047], [PO-3042], [PO-3052]
• Added the ability to turn off full-site server sync via a new config key: system.site.database.rebuild.enabled. Incremental syncs will not be impacted by this. [PO-3033]

Fixes

• Fixed an issue that stopped empty printer groups from being removed in the nightly maintenance sync. [PO-3007]
• Fixed a performance issue when releasing a large number of print jobs simultaneously. [PO-3112]
• Fixed a HTTP ERROR 500:Unable to resolve expression "mailto" error that appeared in the web interface when applying a perpetual license with a negative number of Site Servers in the Global Entitlements Service. Solving out known issue PO-3065.

Print Provider

• Fixed an issue that caused the PaperCut Application Server to incorrectly detect monochrome printers as color printers, which could lead to incorrect print charging or policy enforcement. [PIE-842]
• Improved the Print Provider to reduce the Application Server load when there are a large number of held jobs in a Find-Me queue and the connection between the Print Provider and the App Server if disrupted and then restored. [PIE-872]

Fixes

• Updated the Universal Print Connector to version 2025-02-17-2017. See release notes . [PO-2910]
• Reduced unnecessary log entries in the service.log file, making troubleshooting easier when using application debug logs. [PO-777]
• Fixed an unexpected error that popped up in the Admin Interface when accessing Options. This issue occurred when updating user.web.custom-links in the Config Editor with at least two custom links. [PO-2885]
• Various performance improvements. [PO-3023]
• Fixed an issue where adding a non-embedded device (such as a Network Card Reader or VCC Controller) caused an error when accessing the About > Registration page. Solving known issue PO-3021 .
• Fixed an issue where Site Servers would try to sync entitlements (only Application Servers sync with the Global Entitlements Service), which caused log decryption errors. [PO-2454]

Print Provider

• Fixed an issue with Canon devices automatically selecting the tray when using the PaperCut Global PostScript printer driver to print with the bypass tray selected. [PIE-796]

Enhancements

• Introduced a responsive design when accessing the user web interface pages on a mobile device. When upgrading to 24.1.3, the new design needs to be enabled via a config key. For new installs, the new design is enabled by default. [PO-2887]
• Added a new config key to disable old mobile user web pages, enabling the full user web interface by default on mobile devices. New 24.1.3 installs default to the full interface, while upgrades retain the standard mobile pages. [PO-2853]
• Email Printing on OAuth: service errors no longer lead to clearance of client details. For Gmail on OAuth only: The system will now try to auto-recover from error state. See previous release notes for PO-2576. [PO-2883]
• PaperCut Application Server now supports installations on Windows Server 2025. [PO-2829]
• Added Support for Kerberos, improving secure access options. [PO-1178]

Fixes

• Fixed an issue that was displaying subscription sync error message This server has previously been deactivated in the app log for a deactivated server. [PO-2909]
• Fixed an issue with configured proxy settings not working with Microsoft Entra ID Single Sign On (SSO). [PO-2889]
• Reduced the frequency of the background sync activity from hourly to daily to distribute sync request. This will reduce the impact to cloud service performance as it utilizes all active and available cloud services more effectively. Related to known issue PO-2745.
• Fixed a bug that was causing jr-fontxxxx.ttf files to be generated in the /server/tmp directory. Related to known issue PO-2767.
• Fixed an issue with Email to print, where jpeg images from the iOS Mail app were not printing in certain circumstances. [PO-2981]

New Features

• Windows Protected Print (WPP) mode support (BETA)

  • Computers with Windows Protected Print mode enabled can now print to Mobility Print print queues that are deployed via Print Deploy. See the Windows Protected Print percolator page for more information. [PD-2070]

• Print Deploy client management

  • Admins can now view details of all connected clients (workstations) in the Print Deploy admin interface. This displays the username, hostname, IP address, OS, user groups, and the zone the client is connected to.
  • Print queues can now be deployed directly to individual clients in addition to zones. [PD-1984]

• Added log entries for the database platform version and database driver version in Application Server log files. See Database version and database driver version for more details. [PO-2837]

Fixes

• Improved Global Entitlements Service (GES) sync performance. Changes included adjusting the synchronization frequency within PaperCut to stagger customer check-ins throughout each hour, preventing simultaneous server requests. See known issue for more information. [PO-2745]

• Removed the outdated local copy of the PaperCut NG/MF manual, from the Application server which has been replaced with the online PaperCut NG/MF manual . [PO-1946]

   

  Print Deploy Shared Secret Expiration with Entra ID SSO

  This version contains the fix for Print Deploy (1.9.2785). This shared secret expired as of November 24, 2024. More information listed in known issue . [PD-2133]

Security

• The Environmental Impact Widget (not supported since 2022), is now disabled by default on all upgrades and new installations. [PO-2748]
