Papercut Percolator

Toshiba Integrated Scanning PaperCut Hive

Have you been using PaperCut Hive with Toshiba MFPs? Want to be one of the first organizations using scanning, OCR, and document processing capabilities? Interested in helping us make scanning even easier by telling us your feedback?

About this brew

The team

Meet the team

Hi. We’re the team who worked on this project and we’re excited to share what we’ve been up to - we finished developing the PaperCut Hive Integrated Scanning for Toshiba MFDs Full Embedded app. We all come from different parts of the world - Philippines, India, Brazil, China, and the United States and get to have fun with the IoT, Cloud Microservices, and SinglePage HTML apps. Of course, we love coffee!

New features just for Toshiba

We’ve brought the following features right onto the Toshiba MFP’s touchscreen.

Project
Don't forget OCR

Don’t forget OCR

Oh, and once you’ve enabled the Hive Toshiba Integrated Scanning for Toshiba MFPs, you can also set up the  OCR Add-on  and reap the benefits from these document processing features:

  • OCR
  • PDF/A
  • Blank page removal
  • Batch splitting on blank
  • Batch splitting on page #
  • Deskew
  • Despeckle
  • Cloud compression

What we`ve been up to so far?

We created a feature called Quick Scan to save time for both IT admins and end-users.

EXPERIENCE ON THE PAPERCUT HIVE ADMIN CONSOLE

Easy setup for the IT administrator

IT admins can preconfigure a scan’s destination, input settings, and output settings. Also, the Quick Scans can be deployed across multiple MFPs and multiple brands with consistent user experience, reducing end-user error and the need for training.

EXPERIENCE ON THE MFD TOUCHSCREEN

Easy scanning for the end-user

And this is the result for the end-user. We built the scanning experience on the printer’s touchscreen to be super easy - just a few clicks to scan and no need for training.

STAY TUNED

More brands coming

Quick Scans and OCR Add-On are available now for Toshiba, Konica Minolta, HP OXPd, Sharp, and Ricoh. XEROX is next and will be in beta very soon.

FAQs

You've probably got a couple of questions on your mind right about now. We've done our best to answer the most common ones right here.

Who will have access to the beta?

All existing and new Hive customers with an active PaperCut Hive account can start using the Integrated Scanning for their Toshiba MFPs. Also, they can use Quick Scans and the OCR Add-on for free.

I`ve just got a PaperCut Hive subscription. How can I give feedback?

On the PaperCut Hive admin console, the admin can go to the menu on the top right corner > “Contact Support” and give us feedback or contact us directly through the contact PaperCut page. The product and technical support team will respond to any questions, resolve bugs, and have a conversation with some beta testers.

I currently use PaperCut MF. Can I run PaperCut Hive at the same time?

Yes. But you need to ensure at least one of your Toshiba devices can be switched over to PaperCut Hive to help with testing. An MFD can't run PaperCut MF and PaperCut Hive at the same time. Maybe use the IT department's device?

I’ve only just seen this page. Are there any spots left?

We're limited in how many customers/resellers we can take on at the start and high-demand projects mean spots fill quickly. If you apply and our coffee cups are already full, you might miss out. All is not lost though! We'll definitely note your interest and when we're ready to release wider, we'll let you know. There’s also a chance that "we might need more droids along the way".

Is there anything else I can get involved with?

We’re always building new features and embedded apps for PaperCut Hive, so if you can’t join us on this particular journey, don’t worry – there are more to come. Keep an eye on the Percolator projects and if you can help us with any, please get in touch.
