Exporting and importing Job Ticketing data

This page applies to:

“Why does my exported order data look strange?”

Order data exported from Job Ticketing (e.g. through selecting your Print Room > Order List > Export) is encoded in UTF-8. UTF-8 is widely used to accommodate for “non-standard” characters.

When using MS Excel to import data, the encoding used is defined by the OS, which depends on the locale and other settings. To ensure that order data is imported into Excel without corrupting characters, perform the following steps:

  1. From within Excel, under the ‘Data’ tab, click on ‘From Text/CSV’
  2. Select the csv export containing Job Ticketing order data info
  3. In the next step, under “File origin”, select the ‘UTF-8’ encoding option
  4. Complete the import wizard.
