Hopefully things don’t go wrong, but if they do, try some of the following solutions which have worked well in the past:
- Restart the Application Server - the old ‘switch it off and on again’ trick.
- Try re-applying the upgrade (re-run the installer over the top again), which can resolve some one-off file update / file replacement issues.
- Check the Known Issues page for issues matching what you’re experiencing.

If all else fails, and you need to get your system back up and running again, you may want to roll back your Application Server and database to the previous working version. Take a look at our Downgrading PaperCut article for more detailed steps.
