Print Deploy is a paid-for feature in PaperCut NG/MF. Print Deploy gets the right printer drivers and print queues to the right person in the right location.
Print Deploy empowers you with the flexibility of configuring zones based on user groups and OUs, IP ranges, and hostnames. The base license of PaperCut NG/MF includes Print Deploy with one Everyone zone. If it makes sense in your organization to make all print queues available to all users, then you don’t have to purchase additional zones; for example, you have a single campus.
Out of the box, Print Deploy supports Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS printing. Support for VDI platforms like Citrix, Azure RDS, Microsoft RDS and VMWare Horizon requires an additional license. VDI support is only available to PaperCut MF customers, PaperCut NG doesn’t support VDI.
The available license packs for Print Deploy:
License | Zones | VDI support(PaperCut MF only) |
Included in the base PaperCut NG/MF license | Includes one Everyone zone. All users will get access to all print queues.
10 Zone pack | Allows the creation of ten zones. Multiples of 10 zone packs can be purchased. For example, if you need 25 zones, you can purchase three 10 Zone packs.
100 Zone pack | Allows the creation of a hundred zones. Multiples of 100 zone and 10 zone packs can be purchased. For example, if you need 220 zones, you can purchase two 100 Zone packs and two 10 Zone packs.
Unlimited Zones pack | Allows the creation of an unlimited number of zones. This pack is useful for customers who want flexibility to scale or who want to set up hundreds or thousands of zones.
Advanced Print Enablement (Legacy) | This is a legacy license that includes unlimited zones. Customers who previously bought this license can continue to use this perpetual license and renew Maintenance and Support indefinitely. In other words, moving over to the newer zone-based licensing is unnecessary.
VDI pack | This license does not include any zones. This license is useful for customers who want VDI support and purchased the Advanced Print Enablement pack, less than 100 zones, or use the single Everyone zone included in the base PaperCut MF license. |
Example scenarios:
“I only need 20 zones, but I do need VDI Support” | “ I already purchased Advanced Print Enablement Pack (unlimited zones) but now I need VDI support” | “ I don’t need VDI support and I already purchased Advanced Print Enablement Pack for unlimited zones” | “I need 110 Zones” | “I need VDI support, and I need a large number (450+) of zones”
Purchase the Print Deploy VDI pack and 2x 10 Zone packs | Purchase the Print Deploy VDI pack | You can stay on the Advanced Print Enablement Pack and purchase M&S in future | Purchase 1x 10 zone pack and 1x100 zone pack and receive VDI support for free | Purchase Print Deploy unlimited zones and receive VDI support for free

The Advanced Print Enablement pack is no longer available to purchase. Customers who previously bought this pack can use it indefinitely and can continue to renew Maintenance and Support. In other words, moving to the new zone-based pricing is unnecessary.
Customers with the Advanced Print Enablement pack who want VDI support can purchase the additional Print Deploy VDI pack. The combination of the Advanced Print Enablement pack and the Print Deploy VDI pack include unlimited zones with VDI support.
