THE PAGE APPLIES TO:

You’ve searched on the internet for “how to log into PaperCut” and now here you are.

There are a various places where users and admins might log in:

One quick way to access some of these links is available in the upper-right corner anywhere on papercut.com .

What about PaperCut NG or MF?

The rest of this article pertains to logging in to our on-premise products PaperCut NG and PaperCut MF. Astute observers might notice that there’s no link on our website to log in to these solutions because they are installed and managed by individual organizations, most often by the IT department.

Click on one of these links to jump to the section below:

Or check out the following video to see a demonstration of the login process for PaperCut NG or MF.

Getting the login address

Before logging in, you’ll need the address to your PaperCut NG or MF instance.

We can’t give you the exact link or address to log into your instance because we don’t have it.

Here are the best two ways to figure out the address:

  • Reach out to your IT team.
  • Or, if you’re running the PaperCut User Client on your workstation (look for the PaperCut logo near the clock on your desktop). Open the PaperCut Client and click on the Details… link which will open a link in your browser and take you to the user login screen.

PaperCut NG or MF user login

Whether you’re using either PaperCut NG or MF, the user experience is the same.

  1. In your browser window, go to the address provided by your administrator. This URL might look something like http://your-papercut-server-name:9191/user.

  2. Enter the credentials provided by your administrator. This could be the same username and password that you use to log in to your computer, or it could be something else completely. If you’re not sure, or if you’ve forgotten your password, talk to your IT department.

  3. Once you’re logged in, the screen shows several options, which can vary depending on how your organization has customized PaperCut NG/MF.

PaperCut NG or MF admin login

The process for a system administrator to log in to the admin interface is nearly identical to logging in as a user, except the URL is slightly different and your user account must have access.

  1. In your browser window, go to the address of your PaperCut server, but make sure the tail end of the URL says /admin . This URL might look something like http://your-papercut-server-name:9191/admin. Otherwise this page will look exactly the same as the user login page. If you don’t have the address, reach out to your IT team.
  2. Enter the admin credentials. The default name of the admin account is “admin”. If you’ve lost the password, jump to our article Resetting the Admin Password .
  3. Once logged in, the screen shows several options accessible to only admins.
