Managing administrators

It’s always a good idea to set up at least one other person who can help you look after your PaperCut Hive or Pocket print management system. 

Viewing your current administrators

To find out who currently has admin access to your instance of PaperCut Pocket or Hive: [Click your profile picture top right] > Settings > Administrators

Adding new administrators

  1. From the PaperCut Pocket or Hive admin interface, click on your profile picture in the top-right-hand corner.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Under Administrators, click on Invite Admin.
  4. Enter the email address of the user you wish to grant admin access to.

Once invited, we’ll send an email to the user so they can accept access, set up an admin account, and log in to the admin interface for the first time. Their status will be updated from PENDING to ACTIVE once they have accepted the invite.

Removing administrators

It’s essential to remove admin access when a user leaves the business or no longer requires access. Here are the steps to revoke access for an administrator in PaperCut Pocket and Hive.

  1. From the PaperCut Pocket or Hive admin interface, click on your profile picture in the top-right-hand corner.
  2. Click on Settings.
  3. Under Administrators, select the vertical ellipses next to the administrators’ name.
  4. Select Remove.

Can I remove the admin permissions from a user?
Yes! Follow our instructions for removing administrators .
Can I invite a user to start printing while also being an administrator?
Yes, a user can help administer your instance of PaperCut Pocket or Hive while also being an active printing user. You will need to send them two separate invitations, one for printing and one for admin access.
Can I give an administrator a limited set of admin rights?
If you invite a new administrator to PaperCut Pocket or Hive, they will have full access to administer the system. If you’d like to see us add granular admin permissions in the future, please let us know .
