Please note that when you deploy an add-on solution it is available to all PaperCut Hive and PaperCut Pocket customers globally.

What type of add-ons can I build?

What type of solutions can be developed with the PaperCut Add-on Platform?

Synchronize with Identity Management systems

Many systems can be used to maintain user accounts. For example, cloud user management systems, shared office management systems, library management systems, etc.

With the right add-on, customers can maintain user details in their preferred system and have the details automatically synchronized to the PaperCut cloud-native platform.

Bill for print, copy, scan, and fax jobs

You can use job details to create invoices for end-users or team invoicing.

Scan (capture) documents with Document Capture

Document Capture digitizes (scans) and delivers documents to business applications that require them - for example, Workflow, Business Process, and Line of Business Vertical solutions. Document Capture is an enabler for these other applications.

The API allows an add-on to define a new scan destination with just one API call. The add-on can also provide:

  • an endpoint to receive a scan callback with the job payload (scan document and metadata). The same endpoint is used to process all customer jobs no matter where they come from (this may change in the future).
  • a list of metadata field prompts the user should see
  • additional processing steps a job must follow before being handed off to the add-on (for example, OCR, batch split, de-skew, or de-speckle).

Note: If your customers need to enable the PaperCut Hive OCR Add-on for your specific document capture solution, then they should contact their PaperCut Software partner, and additional charges may apply. More information here

Deploy reporting solutions

Create detailed and useful dashboard reports to help customers get insight into their users’ activities. For example, let customers find out:

  • Are their users making the best use of duplex and greyscale printing?
  • Which devices are least or most used?
